Summer typically sees few scheduled events on the WICEN
calendar. However, this has traditionally be the group's busiest
time for activations, and as such, members need to remain prepared to
respond to an activation.

WICEN is planning to provide a display and presentation at the
"Centenary" Central Coast Field Day at Wyong on Sunday, February 28.

The Hawkesbury Canoe Classic last weekend, ran smoothly.

Hunter Region will be providing safety communications for the Great
North Walk 100's event over the weekend of 14th & 15th of
November. This is a marathon foot race starting at Teralba,
following the Great North Walk for 100 miles to Patonga, with a
shorter event finishing after 100 kilometres, at Yarramalong. The

The annual Barrington Tops Search and Rescue Exercise, SAREX, concludes today. No doubt if the aircraft has been located you will have heard about it in the media.

WICEN is participating in the annual Barrington Tops Search and Rescue Exercise, SAREX, over the weekend of the 17th & 18th of October. In addition to training, the objective is locating the missing Cessna 210, VH-MDX, which disappeared in 1981. This is a great exercise as it allows members to work along side, and in support of, a wide range of agencies.

WICEN has once again been invited to participate in the annual Barrington Tops Search and Rescue Exercise, SAREX, over the weekend of the 17th & 18th of October. In addition to training, the objective is locating the missing Cessna 210, VH-MDX, which disappeared in 1981.

Last weekend's Kangaroo Valley Fundraising "Trek for Timor" was a great sucess, raising over $40,000 for development in Timor-Leste, as East Timor (4W) is now known.

This weekend was the Kangaroo Valley Fundraising "Trek for Timor", held near Nowra over the 19th & 20th of September. WICEN provided a radio safety network over the 48 kilometre route for the 200 participants.
