A new event is the GWT, or Glow Worm Tunnel Trail Running Weekend at Newnes, north of Lithgow, on the 16th and 17th of June. This will provide experience operating in a remote location.

True Grit concludes today, and will be followed by the Obstacle Course Racing World Championship on next Friday 8th, and Saturday 9th, both events being held at Lower Portland, in north-west Sydney.

The 30th Navshield, a bush navigation contest, is on the 23rd and 24th of June, in a secret, but rugged looking location.

The VH-MDX "Barrington SAREX", or Search And Rescue EXercise is on September 14th to 16th.

WICEN Northern Rivers has a weekly net on Tuesdays at 8:00pm, on the Lismore repeater VK2RSC on 146.8 MHz, requiring a 123 Hz tone. Listen for VK2WIR. A meeting is planned for Sunday, 10 June at 10:00, at the SARC club site.

The WICEN Mid North Coast Region monthly meeting is held on the first Saturday of the month, at SES HQ, Central Road, Port Macquarie, beginning at 15:30. The region is also experimenting with an HF net on Thursday evenings at 19:00, on the WICEN frequency, 3.600 MHz.

WICEN ACT is part of the Canberra Region Amateur Radio Club, and supports events in the ACT and the surrounding "Capital Country". The National Capital Rally concludes today. June 9th and 10th is the SCSCC Bega Rally. Saturday, July 21st is pencilled-in as the BMSC Narooma Rally, as is the Batemans Bay Rally on August 11th. CRARC also runs Foundation courses and all-level exams bi-monthly, the next being July 21st and 22nd.

WICEN Victoria's next event is the Mallee Rally is next weekend, 9th and 10th of June at the spectacular Lake Tyrell in Sealake; while the Stockmans Rally at Big River is listed tentatively for Sunday, October 21st.
