True Grit, promoted as a "military inspired obstacle challenge", is being held this weekend in Lower Portland, north-west of Sydney.

Bush Search and Rescue New South Wales, or BSAR organises Navshield, the NSW Emergency Services Wilderness Navigation Shield, to be held on June 24th and 25th, with WICEN setup the afternoon before.

The weekend of 21st to 23rd July will be a recce for the VH-MDX Search And Rescue EXercise, with the event on 15th to 17th September. A Mini VH-MDX SAREX on June 15th and 16th, with WICEN providing the Sydney end of the communications link, using VRA HF frequencies.

Trek for Timor Kangaroo Valley is on 7th and 8th October.

Saturday, August 26th is the tentative date for the AGM.

WICEN Northern Rivers has a weekly net on Tuesdays at 8:00pm summer time, on the Lismore repeater VK2RSC on 146.8 MHz, requiring a 123 Hz tone. Listen for VK2WIR. The Region [has/had a meeting this morning at 1000, at the SARC club rooms. This includes planning for the Bom Bom State Forest Enduro next weekend.

The WICEN Mid North Coast Region monthly meeting is held on the first Saturday of the month, at SES HQ Central Road, Port Macquarie, beginning at 1530 hours.

WICEN ACT is part of the Canberra Region Amateur Radio Club, and supports events in the ACT and the surrounding "Capital Country". This weekend is the SCSCC Bega Rally, and the 17th is the BMSC Rallye des Femmes. July 22nd is penciled in as the BMSC Narooma Rally. September 2nd and 3rd is the ACTERA Brookvale Horse Enduro. WICEN Victoria holds a net every Tuesday at 2030 on or near 3.6 MHz. The Mallee Rally is this weekend at the Lake Tyrell, famous for photos of its mirror surface.
