A WIA report indicates that WICEN Queensland has been active for the
flood disaster there. Queensland's Water Police requested HF links
between Brisbane and Cairns, and other WICEN help was given to the
Townsville and Rockhampton regions pending repair of Telstra optical
fibre.

Unless they are required for an activation or event, all Amateurs are
welcome to use these systems, and reports are also most welcome.
The Shahzada is the world famous 400 km horse endurance event held
around St Albans to the north-west of Sydney. It runs from Monday,
August 27th, to Friday 31st.
Last Saturday's RF survey of the Navshield course confirmed coverage
of the event checkpoints.
The BWRS Navshield will be held over the weekend of July 7-8, within a
reasonable distance of Sydney. The event sees a wide range of
emergency services, military and bushwalking groups competing in small
teams. Registration for participants also remain open.
The Shahzada in the week long, 400 km horse endurance event at St
Albans to the north-west of Sydney. It commences on Monday, August
27th, and concludes on Friday 31st.
WICEN was represented by our treasurer at the VRA mid-year conference
on 19 May. One important item is the legal requirement that any
accidents while on WICEN Duty, including those not resulting in
injury, be reported, so as that they can be listed with the VRA
Secretary.
WICEN is planning a Picnic near Wentworth Falls in the western Blue Mountains on Sunday 29 April. Members will soon receive a reminder about this, including weather contingencies.
