If you picked up a membership form at last Sunday's Field Day this is
your reminder to fill it out and mail it back. If it now smells of
tamarind, because you spilled Aussie BBQ sauce on it, replacements are
available on the WICEN website.

Steven VK2BOS advises that, in addition to text based HF Digital
Modes, the Monday evening group will also experiment with the new
digital voice software called FreeDV. This is available from:

WICEN's VK2RWC repeater in Chatswood is on 147.150 MHz with a plus 600
kHz offset. It both requires, and sends, a 91.5 Hz tone. The new
23cm FM repeater at Chatswood is on 1273.200 MHz with a plus 20 MHz
offset. No tone is currently required, but a 91.5 Hz tone is sent.

WICEN will provide a display at the upcoming CCARC Field Day at Wyong
on Sunday, February 24. This is typically between the large and small
grandstands.

Last Saturday's RF survey of the Navshield course confirmed coverage
of the event checkpoints.

The BWRS Navshield will be held over the weekend of July 7-8, within a
reasonable distance of Sydney. The event sees a wide range of
emergency services, military and bushwalking groups competing in small
teams. Registration for participants also remain open.

The Shahzada in the week long, 400 km horse endurance event at St
Albans to the north-west of Sydney. It commences on Monday, August
27th, and concludes on Friday 31st.

WICEN is planning a Picnic near Wentworth Falls in the western Blue Mountains on Sunday 29 April. Members will soon receive a reminder about this, including weather contingencies.
