The Upper Hawkesbury Power Boat Club is conducting the 78th Bridge to
Bridge Power Boat Classic on the Hawkesbury River today. WICEN is
supporting Marine Rescue, who are co-ordinating over 50 checkpoints
between Brooklyn and Windsor, using GRN and VHF marine.

Northern Rivers is providing communications for Tenterfield Equestrian
Club's Horse Enduro this weekend, in the Girard State Forest.

are some land based, allowing volunteers without a boat to operate
them. Communications will use GRN and VHF marine, with GRN handsets
supplied.

New Repeater Testing

WICEN has a new set of repeater hardware on 147.175 (+600 with a 91.5 Hz subtone) on test from tomorrow 17th April, from 12:00, with the call sign VK2REP, our portable 2M licence. It will be on air for a week or so.

Northern Rivers is providing communications for Tenterfield Equestrian
Club's Horse Enduro on the weekend of the 3rd and 4th of May, in the
Girard State Forest.

WICEN membership fees were due 31 March 2014. Many members have
already paid, mainly at the Wyong Field Day. The Annual fee is $15.00,
and direct payment to WICEN account is preferred. For details of

deposit their membership fee direct, then payment can be made by

On Sunday 23rd March a VRA Induction training session was held at the
SARC Clubrooms in Lismore for about 10 WICEN members. This covered
the 5 basic competencies required for active VRA members. The WICEN
Northern Rivers group approached the training with enthusiasm and all
made a big effort to get through all the work required on the day.
This training will help continue WICEN's relevance to today's changing
emergency service environment. Thank you to all those who attended.

Northern Rivers is providing communications for Tenterfield Equestrian
Club's Horse Enduro on the weekend of the 3rd and 4th of May, in the
Girard State Forest.

WICEN ACT is part of the Canberra Region Amateur Radio Club, the
successor of the ACT division of the WIA. Their website at

WICEN has been asked to provide communications support for the
Bushwalker's Wilderness Rescue Squad's Operational Exercise, or OPEX,
at Winburndale Nature Reserve, 35kms north-east of Bathurst, on the
weekend of 22nd and 23rd of March.

WICEN Northern Rivers conducted a training exercise in the Girard
State Forest, west of Drake, testing a 70cm portable repeater on Mt.
Richmond, overlooking the area to be used for the forthcoming horse
enduro run by the Tenterfield Equestrian Club.
