WICEN NSW is a communications support squad of the NSW Volunteer Rescue Association.

Events planned for upcoming months include:

• Dementia Australia’s Memory Walk and Jog are to be held in Penrith on May 9th and at Leichhardt Oval, Lilyfield, on May 23rd. These events are an ideal training ground in emergency communications for WICEN members.
• The Glowworm Tunnel Marathon, will be held in the Newnes and Wolgan Valley area in the Blue Mountains on the weekend of June 18th-20th.
  A training day for this event will be held in the Newnes area on April 11th. Training will take the form of an on site radio survey. This is ideal training for members looking for a more technically challenging activity.

WICEN runs a weekly net each Sunday evening at 1800 hrs. The net is run on either the Chatswood 2 m repeater or the Berowra/Kurrajong 70 cm repeaters.

The digital messaging network sessions continue to be held on Monday evenings at 2000 hrs using WINLINK and JS8CALL net.
