WICEN NSW, is a communications support squad of the NSW Volunteer Rescue Association.

Members are encouraged to take advantage of the free courses offered by the Office of Emergency Management, at: https://www.emtraining.nsw.gov.au/

WICEN groups across Australia will be supporting Dementia Australia Memory Walk and Jog events. These are short Sunday morning events. NSW's first event at Tench Reserve on the Nepean River at Penrith, is April 5th. Inner-Western Sydney is May 24th, and the Hunter Region on the 31st. See: http://memorywalk.com.au

The Glow Worm Tunnel Marathon Weekend at Newnes is June 13th and 14th. BSAR's Navshield, which WICEN is eligible to compete in, is June 27th and 28th. Navshield is a bush navigation competition which has two options for emergency organisations; Saturday only, or overnight into Sunday. WICEN regularly provides communications support, but hasn't participated for the last several years. More information can be found at https://www.bsar.org.au/navshield/

WICEN ACT is part of the Canberra Region Amateur Radio Club, and supports events in the "Capital Country" region, and on the South Coast. The BMSC "NatCap" Rally is March 21st and 22nd. WICEN Victoria will support the following Memory Walk and Jog events: Ballarat at Lake Wendouree on March 15th (support TBC), Melbourne on May 3rd, and Geelong on May 17th. Duncan's Run 100 at Turra Bulga in south Gippsland on March 21st. The Kenda Motorbike Rally is May 3rd at Eildon. The Mallee Rally near Sealake is back, on June 6th and 7th.
