WICEN NSW is a communications support squad of the NSW Volunteer Rescue Association.
WICEN NSW is providing, today, communications support for Dementia Australia's Illawarra Memory Walk and Jog (https:memorywalk.com.au). Later walks in NSW are scheduled in the Hunter, in Penrith, and in Rozelle. These events are an ideal training ground in emergency communications for WICEN members.
Interstate events will be supported by WICEN ACT, WICEN Victoria and WICEN South Australia.
WICEN members are encouraged, if they can, to participate in the Field Day Replacement foxhunt on Sunday February 28th. This event is being sponsored by the Amateur Radio Repeater Group and will take place in the Liverpool/Campbelltown area. Full details on their website at https://arrg.club
WICEN has a weekly net, each Sunday evening. This week, the main net will be on linked UHF FM at Kurrajong and Berowra at 18:00 hours, and on VKDMR Talk Group 3810 at 18:30 hours.
A digital messaging network session using WINLINK and JS8CALL net is held on Monday evenings. Details are in the VRA calendar invite sent to members.
Members are advised to regularly check their vrarescue.org email inbox.
