The Upper Hawkesbury Power Boat Club will conduct the 78th Bridge to
Bridge Power Boat Classic on the Hawkesbury River on Sunday 4th May
2014. Jan VK2FEB [pronounced similar to "Yarn"] is organising WICEN's
assistance to Marine Rescue, who are co-ordinating communications and
checkpoint personnel. There are over 50 checkpoints between Brooklyn
and Windsor, of which some are some land based, allowing volunteers
without a boat to operate them. Communications will use GRN and VHF
marine, as appropriate, with GRN handsets supplied.

Northern Rivers is providing communications for Tenterfield Equestrian
Club's Horse Enduro on the weekend of the 3rd and 4th of May, in the
Girard State Forest.

WICEN's Sister Squad, the Bushwalker's Wilderness Rescue Squad will be
running their four day Comprehensive Remote Area First Aid over the
weekends of 3 and 4 May, and 17 and 18 May at North Wahroonga.

WICEN has a new set of repeater hardware on 147.175 (+600 with a 91.5 Hz subtone)
on test, with the call sign VK2REP, our portable 2M licence. It will be on air for a week or so.
Members are encouraged to try accessing it over the Easter break
and provide reports to operations@nsw.wicen.org.au
It is located at a high point in the Botany area.

WICEN ACT is part of the Canberra Region Amateur Radio Club. Their
