WICEN Hunter is looking for additional operators to support the Port to Port Mountain Bike event. It runs over four days, travelling from Nelson Bay, via Pokolbin, Cooranbong, and Cams Wharf, to Newcastle. The dates are Thursday 28th to Sunday 31st of May.

The Bushwalkers Wilderness Rescue Squad is holding their annual NavShield event for 2015 over the weekend of 4th and 5th July, with WICEN teams deploying on the evening of Friday 3rd July.

The announcement of El NiƱo conditions is expected to lead to dryer weather over the coming year, and a greater bush fire danger for later in the year.

To new Amateurs it may appear that WICEN is not particularly active, but this changes, especially in October when there can be one or more events on each weekend, some requiring a large number of operators. Joining now will enable you to participate in these events, and any future activations.

WICEN has a twitter account: @wicennsw
It can also be seen at: http://twitter.com/wicennsw

Facebook users will find the official WICEN New South Wales page, and an informal national WICEN group. Given that facebook allows users to place their callsign in the alternative name field, this can be helpful in determining who to allow to join the groups.

WICEN ACT is part of the Canberra Region Amateur Radio Club, and supports events in the ACT and the surrounding region. The club's website at http://www.crarc.ampr.org includes details of both WICEN and general events. National Capital Rally will be held over the weekend of 16th and 17th May. Subject to confirmation, the Bega Valley Rally will be held on Saturday the 6th of June. The Club's next Foundation Licence Course and Examinations are on the weekend of the 9th and 10th of May.

Coming events include:

NatCap Rally this weekend
Port to Port MTB between the 28th and 31st of May
BMSC Bega Rally on Saturday the 6th of June
Northern Rivers Meeting and Training on Sunday 14th of June
