WICEN NSW, is a support squad of the NSW Volunteer Rescue Association. Recent rains mean fires across the state have been brought under control, and WICEN's support has concluded.
WICEN will have a stand at the Wyong Field Day next Sunday.
Members should have received an email regarding the upcoming training, "Drive vehicles under operational conditions", to be held on February 29th and March 1st. Members are also encouraged to take advantage of the free courses offered by the Office of Emergency Management, at: https://www.emtraining.nsw.gov.au/
WICEN groups across Australia will be supporting Dementia Australia Memory Walk and Jog events. These short Sunday morning events run for several months from February. NSW's first event at Tench Reserve on the Nepean River at Penrith, on April 5th. Inner-Western Sydney is May 24th, and the Hunter the 31st. See: https://memorywalk.com.au

WICEN ACT is part of the Canberra Region Amateur Radio Club, and supports events in the "Capital Country" region, and on the South Coast. Next Sunday morning will be the Memory Walk and Jog, a lakeside circuit taking in Commonwealth and Kings Avenues. The BMSC "NatCap" Rally is March 21st and 22nd. WICEN Victoria is this weekend supporting the Oscar's 100 "Hut to Hut". Duncan's Run 100 is planned Turra Bulga in south Gippsland on March 21st. Memory Walk and Jog events include Ornamental Lakes Park in Mildura on March 1st; and Ballarat at Lake Wendouree on March 15th (support TBC); Melbourne and Geelong are May 3rd and 17th respectively. The Kenda Motorbike Rally is May 3rd at Eildon (near the famous Bonnie Doon). The weekly net is on each Tuesday at 8:30 pm, on 3.6 MHz. WICEN Victoria's website is: http://vic.wicen.org.au
