The WICEN NSW Annual General Meeting was held here at sunny Dural yesterday.

WICEN (Hunter Region) is seeking further operators for the "Great North Walk ULTRA", from Teralba to Patonga Wharf, on the 8th and 9th of September. Please contact WICEN Operations with availability for these days.

The "Barrington SAREX", or Search And Rescue EXercise, built around the search for the missing Cessna 210M, VH-MDX is in the Barrington Tops on the 14th to 16th.

The Hounslow Classic, on September 22nd and 23rd, is a running event centred on Blackheath.

The Hawkesbury Canoe Classic, and the Wisemans Dash will be on 27th and 28th October. These raise funds for the ARROW Bone Marrow Transplant Foundation.

Day 2 of Induction Training will be here at Dural on Sunday, August 19th.

Volunteer Memorial Day is Sunday, October 14th.

For Facebook users, there is an official WICEN NSW page, and an informal national WICEN group.

WICEN Northern Rivers has a weekly net on Tuesdays at 8:00pm, on the Lismore repeater VK2RSC on 146.8 MHz, requiring a 123 Hz tone. Listen for VK2WIR. Their meeting is today at 10:00 at the SARC site.

The WICEN Mid North Coast Region monthly meeting is held on the first Saturday of the month, at SES HQ, Central Road, Port Macquarie, beginning at 15:30. The region is also running an HF net on Thursday evenings at 19:00, on the WICEN frequency, 3.600 MHz.

WICEN ACT is part of the Canberra Region Amateur Radio Club, and supports events in the region. The ACTERA Brookvale Horse Endurance Ride is September 29th and 30th. October has the ANU "Inward Bound" adventure race on the 5th and 6th; and both Fitz's Challenge and the Whitwood Carriage Driving event on the 28th. CRARC also runs Foundation courses and all-level exams bi-monthly, the next being September 22nd and 23rd.

WICEN Victoria's is supporting the October Field Weekend at Lauriston Scount Camp in the Macedon Ranges, on the 5th and 6th; and the Stockmans Rally at Big River on Sunday, October 28th. They hold a net on 3.6 MHz each Tuesday at 8:30 pm. Visit: http://vic.wicen.org.au
