WICEN NSW, is a communications support squad of the NSW Volunteer Rescue Association.

WICEN NSW Squad Captain and President Lindsay Bolstad attended the NSW Bushfire State Memorial Service, honouring the 25 firefighters and community members lost in the recent NSW bushfires.

"Drive vehicles under operational conditions" training is held this weekend. Members are also encouraged to take advantage of the free courses offered by the Office of Emergency Management, at: https://www.emtraining.nsw.gov.au/

WICEN groups across Australia will be supporting Dementia Australia Memory Walk and Jog events. These short Sunday morning events run for several months from February. NSW's first event at Tench Reserve on the Nepean River at Penrith is April 5th. Inner-Western Sydney is May 24th, and the Hunter Valley on the 31st. The Mallee Rally is back, on June 6th and 7th. WICEN ACT is part of the Canberra Region Amateur Radio Club, and supports events in the "Capital Country" region, and on the South Coast. The BMSC "NatCap" Rally is March 21st and 22nd. WICEN Victoria will support the following Memory Walk and Jog events: Ornamental Lakes Park in Mildura this morning, Ballarat at Lake Wendouree on March 15th (support TBC), Melbourne on May 3rd, and Geelong on May 17th. Duncan's Run 100 at Turra Bulga in south Gippsland on March 21st. The Kenda Motorbike Rally is May 3rd at Eildon. The weekly net is on each Tuesday at 8:30 pm, on 3.6 MHz.
