WICEN NSW has been activated to provide specialist communications support to the VRA squads BWRS and Cave Rescue teams who are providing land search teams to NSW Police in the search for a missing bush walker in the Kanangra Walls area.

2 WICEN operators are on site at the Police Rescue command post providing VHF voice comms and APRS trackers for the teams who searched the Kanangra Main canyon today, Mon the 27th. They will be overnighting at Kanangra Lookout and providing comms support during search activities on Tues the 28th. WICEN members in Sydney are supporting the tasking readying additional WICEN assets for deployment as needed.

This deployment the day after another search where WICEN NSW was supporting a Police Rescue lead land search in the Barrington Tops and simultaneously providing coverage for the Hawkesbury Canoe Classic. It is an extremely busy time for WICEN NSW this week providing valuable communications support across multiple events and activations.
